85.       It is reported that Dumam b. al-Saib, one of the early leading scholars of the Ibadhi school, was sitting with a (waliy) believer when a certain man was mentioned, and Dhumam’s companion spoke ill of him.  Dumam said, ‘Hush, do not do that.’ The man said, ‘May God be dissociated from him.’ (                                     ) So Dumam said, ‘May God be dissociated from you’.
